By becoming a mentor you will help write new chapters in the story of a young life. All it takes is a few hours a month. Plus, all youth enrolled are voluntarily committed to improve their lives, which, makes the mentor relationship a positive one from the very start.
Youth at Risk thoroughly prepares you for success as a mentor. Steps to becoming a mentor:
- Attend a mentor introduction and complete a mentor application.
- Participate in a personal interview with Youth at Risk staff
- Complete a background check (fingerprints necessary).
- Attend mentor training (calendar available at introduction)
- New Pathways Teen Program: Attend a 4-day retreat outside of the Phoenix area, with your youth. Homeless Children’s Mentoring Program: Meet your youth the first time with the Program Manager at their home.
- Make a difference in a child’s life!
